Job Responsibilities
- The Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for implementing programs that focus on rehabilitation.
- Work directly with patients on therapeutic exercises designed to help regain full mobility, strengthen their muscles, and improve coordination, following plan of care specifically written for individual patient.
- Observe and reassess patient's progress.
- Coordinate treatment plan with patient, family and other team members.
- Collaborate with PT and other disciplines to ensure best patient outcomes.
- Evaluate effects of therapy treatment and communicate patient's progress.
- Ensure patients receive personalized care.
- Provide training for using assistive devices, such as crutches, canes or prosthetics.
- Record and document patient care services.
Education, Licensure(s), And Qualifications.
- Valid Physical Therapist Assistant licensure as required by state regulations
- CPR certification required (ACLS preferred)
- Previous Home Health experience is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrates good verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
- Must possess attention to detail skills.
- Ability to prioritize work using fundamental time management skills.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to foster a team environment.
- Demonstrates knowledge and technical skills necessary for providing competent, comprehensive patient care.
- Must possess problem solving abilities, excellent customer service skills, and patient first characteristics.
- Valid driver's license, valid auto insurance and reliable transportation required
- Valid TB test (or have one placed in our office)
